Streak

A couple of years ago a video made the rounds via e-mail, which showed an Israeli female shopper trying to pull a topper out of a bottle in a busy shop. When the woman made a loud noise by finally popping the top all of the other shoppers simultaneously dropped to one knee and then quickly came back up holding a gun. Despite Obama calling for a more even handed rhetoric in what was supposed to be a memorial service that shamefully turned into a campaign rally in Tucson, complete with T-shirts hyping an old campaign slogan, this gun slinging scenario is what most on the Left would have us believe happens every time we Arizonians hear a car backfire or child pop his bubble gum.

The Left was sure to tell us how elegantly Obama delivered his speech, as always, but on his comments about toning down the hateful rhetoric they seem to have come away with the certainty that he was surely not pointing a finger at them! After all, those on the Left know nothing about hate speech except for what they hear coming from the Right. Just ask them. Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, O’Reilly, Ingraham, Beck and those racist Tea Partiers are the real hate mongers! Not to mention those gun crazed racist Zonies who want to stop illegal immigration, now that’s hateful!

The Left doesn’t understand why Zonies just can’t be more like their nice Progressive, pot smoking, Big Mac hating, anything goes but Common Sense and Patriotism neighbors in the sanctuary city of San Francisco?

The Left tells us that it is not hate speech that they are spewing forth at every instance, but rather what they are saying is merely the truth and that they are only trying to lead us down the right path, or perhaps I should say, the correct path. They feel that in order to get us to fall in line they must use some pretty rough language and tell it like it is because time is fleeting and we’re all too dumb to understand what we really are unless they point out all of our shortcomings.

So for the Left it is not hate speech when they call us racists, the great-unwashed masses, or bible clutching, gun clinging morons and homophobes. They just have to talk straight so that we will get the message. Its all our fault not theirs because we just won’t listen. They don’t really think it’s clever when we on the Right make them resort to insults like calling Tea Party members the disgusting homosexual term, tea baggers. So when they are forced to denigrate us with such a vulgar term that malicious smirk on their faces is only holding back their pain.

And why shouldn’t the Left think that Obama wasn’t talking to them when he called for some civility? The Left has every right to think that Obama was casting a sly ‘wink, wink’ in their direction since he himself has been advocating hatred for anyone on the other side since he first stepped onto the campaign platform. Obama may now be trying to act more like a Centralist but he is still who he is and he always will be. Just wait until things cool down and he’ll once again be telling us to, “ride in the back.”

After Obama’s “splendid speech” the Left hardly missed a beat in their attacks. Sarah Palin went from “having blood on her hands” to being anti-Semitic for her all too accurate “blood libel” comment and from there to being accused of being too stupid to know what a blood libel is.

Since that terrible morning in Tucson Arizona has been repeatedly referred to as “The Wild West” and our citizens have been described as being gun crazy. The Left would have you believe that Zonies are all stuck in the 19th Century like wannabe Wyatt Earp gunslingers that are more then ready to fire off a few rounds in any direction at the slightest provocation in the hope that we can all take part in our own little bloodthirsty version of the OK Corral.

Driving home this bloodlust fantasy and while smiling before his adoring cameras, Tom Brokaw smirked that the people in Arizona have so many guns that if he were in Arizona he would “be afraid to go into a bar or a restaurant on a Saturday night.”

I don’t know if Brokaw is just plain stupid or a coward, or both. What I do know is that Brokaw is the typical leftwing elitist who believes that us “common folks” are far less sophisticated and intelligent than he is and because we are nothing more than gun toting Neanderthals that we willingly place ourselves and our loved ones in harms way.

One should note that in Brokaw’s malicious remarks he does not call anyone a vile name but instead uses negative innuendoes to slander those of us he is referring to. While the Left are never shy in coming right out and calling us racists, homophobes, morons and so on, they do love to smear people with what they feel are these haughtily clever little left handed implications that slanders a persons character, behavior, economic standing and intelligence.

One such little quip was a recent opening statement on MSNBC’s ‘The Last Word’ with Lawrence (don’t call him Larry!) O’Donnell. Larry always seems way too serious and so upset that one gets the impression that he could go off his nut at the mere drop of a name, like say, George W. Bush?

Actually, if you will allow me to humor my inner child for a moment, I would love to be able to one day sneak up behind Larry while he is so seriously telling us all what we should think and holler, “REAGAN!” Yeah, he’d come after me. But if that day is to ever come I better hurry as I hear that show hosts are dropping like flies on MSNBC.

Anyway, O’Donnell opened his program by telling us about all of the many righteous Democrats who flew on the taxpayers’ dime to attended the Tucson memorial turned campaign rally and then asked, “But were was Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner? Well,” he added, “Mr. Boehner couldn’t attend because he was busy…(pause for dramatic effect)… at a Republican cocktail party… Tom DeLay will join us tonight. We'll get his reaction to Boehner skipping out on the Arizona memorial service for a cocktail party.”

What? That was the leading headline? Certainly something more important had to have happened that day.

Only on MSNBC would they first imply that a Republican was morally lax in his duties for not attending a memorial service that was really a Democratic rally, then imply that said Republican was a drunk and finally ask a recently convicted felon, Republican Tom Delay to comment on the other man’s character! Wow, now that’s a creditable source.

Delay was apparently just stopping by on his way to prison as he has been sentenced to three years for money laundering. He got off easy, but then don’t they all. Personally I would have given him five years just for wearing those red trousers on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and another five for being such an idiotic boob. Seriously, Delay’s facial expressions, dancing and overall behavior on that show was enough to scare small children. I wonder, how do people like Delay ever get elected in the first place and if his dancing skills will come in handy while he’s “away?”

Meanwhile back at The Wild West Ranch, or in this case ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’, the young, imperious Ms Maddow was once again talking down to her audience in a rather awkward attempt to explain why American citizens don’t need guns. (Video and transcript can be found here, or at least until MSNBC comes to their senses and cans Maddow too.)

Maddow started off this segment by praising Rep. Trent Franks (R) AZ, for responding to a reporter’s question about arming Congress, in that he was not going to use this tragedy as a political platform. Why Maddow actually said that she thought Franks had “reflected good judgment” and “some class”!

However, she could not leave her comments on Franks with that positive note because on MSNBC when that rare occasion pops up where someone praises a Republican or a Conservative it always has to be followed by something negative, otherwise they wouldn’t even bring it up.

In this case Maddow continued that Franks had also said, “You know, I wish there had been one more gun there that day in the hands of a responsible person.”

Now Maddow’s style has a very annoyingly overbearing tone and manner when she goes off on one of her little Marxist lessons for the masses, it as if she is talking to a classroom of very slow learning six year olds. So first she wistfully repeated Franks’ statement about a responsible person with a gun on the scene and then begins to tell her slow witted class about how many guns there are in Arizona and how easy it is to get one here. At this point she springs her surprise by telling us that there was in fact a responsible gun owner on the scene, just like Mr. Franks had wished!

Maddow then introduces this responsible gun owner with a clip from MSNBC’s ‘The Ed Show’ hosted by the always angrier than thou Ed Schultz. According to the Schultz show’s almost nonexistent ratings the fact that there actually is a guy named Ed Schultz and that he has a show on MSNBC may have surprised the viewers even more than there was a responsible gun owner at the scene.

The clip shows a young unidentified white male being interviewed off camera by Schultz. This may also be the only time a video clip has ever been used from his show, probably making Schultz just absolutely giddy, which may explain why Old Angry Ed never bothered to ask the man his name! But then competent journalism is a dying profession.

As the gun owner tells it, he was in a nearby Walgreens when he heard the shots outside and went running for the door. As he left Walgreens he said he had his hand on his gun, which was still in his holster but he had slipped off the safety. Reaching the scene of the shooting he states that he saw a man on the ground being held down and another man nearby holding a gun. I remind you here that by now the shooting has stopped.

When Schultz asked him if he was ready to kill that man with the gun the responsible gun owner states that he grabbed the arm of the man with the gun and although his gun was still holstered, he states that he was ready to shoot him until someone told him that he was not the shooter.

Maddow follows up the clip by making a big deal of this testimony by again saying that there was a responsible gun owner at the scene and that he almost shot one of the heroes who had subdued the real gunman. She explains that she understands the Right’s hero fantasy about how armed people can stop crime. She even drags John Wayne into the discussion. Isn’t dragging the long ago deceased Duke into this lie some sort of sacrilege, or something?

Maddow then points to a study that shows that the five states with the highest gun ownership also have the highest death rate by guns per capita while the five states with the lowest gun ownership has the lowest death rates by guns. While she does not mention if these gun related deaths are from criminal acts, suicides, hunting or other types of gun related accidents she concludes that this data proves without question that individual citizens owning guns does not prevent crime.

After a few more ramblings she closes this segment in an annoyingly sympathetic manner and tone as if she actually has pity for the rest of us simple minded folks for not seeing this obvious truth, and again she insists that while she understands the hero/gun owner fantasy, the fact is that guns in the hands of law biding citizens do not prevent crime.

So… okay… where to begin?

Despite all of the recent talk about Arizona being the Wild West, where we’re all gun crazy, at a large gathering of our citizens on that terrible Saturday morning unlike that Israeli shop video with all of the citizens dropping down and coming up with guns, the simple fact is that the Left could only find one “responsible gun owner” at the scene of the crime. Under such circumstances this wild west, gun crazed citizenry libel just doesn’t hold up. But then the Left has never let the facts stand in their way.

Furthermore, the truth is that this lone “responsible gun owner” that Maddow has zeroed in on to prove that gun owners can’t stop crime wasn’t even at the scene of the crime. He was in fact in another area where he only heard the shots being fired and did not even witness any of the shootings. The facts are that he arrived after the shooting had stopped and after the shooter had already been subdued. Unlike what Maddow and Schultz want us to believe, there was no responsible gun owner at the actual scene of this crime as they so shamefully insist.

Had there been one or two responsible gun owners actually at the scene when that first terrible shot was fired, then it is entirely reasonable to believe that the evil carnage delivered by this lone crazed killer could have been reduced. It is no fantasy to believe that once this maniac started shooting that a well placed round could have saved innocent lives or others from being wounded.

I ask you, what is so hard to believe? Why is that a fantasy when just months ago we were shown a video of a madman firing point blank at members of a school board but he was then killed by a security guard before he could reload? No one died in that incident other than the madman, God only knows how many others would have died if not for that lone responsible gun owner that was actually present during the shootings.

In her deranged argument Maddow makes much of the fact that the lone responsible gun owner admitted that he almost shot an innocent man that was now holding the shooter’s gun. She suggests that when citizens are allowed to have guns that there is a very good chance that even more people will be killed or wounded than if only the deranged gunman has a weapon.

I mean to take nothing away from the courage of the young man who ran to help from Walgreens, but with his gun still holstered he was not ready to kill anyone. The fact that when he arrived he did not know that the man who was holding the gun was not the shooter also only reinforces the fact that he was not at the scene of the crime when the crime happened. All of this makes Maddow and Schultz’s arguments nothing more then twisted logic to advance their progressive agenda, and in fact makes their scenario into the fantasy.

Speaking of logic, or the lack of, when Maddow was discussing the five states with the highest and lowest gun deaths being in line with the number of guns in those states, isn’t it just logical that where there are more guns there is a higher degree of probability for more gun deaths? Wouldn’t that also be true that with fewer guns there would a lesser degree of probability of gun related deaths? Wouldn’t this also hold true with the five states that have the most cars probably having more traffic deaths and likewise for the five states with the fewest cars having fewer traffic deaths? How about Minnesota, The Land of Ten Thousand Lakes, and Hawaii, an island in the Pacific, wouldn’t they probably have more deaths due to drowning or boating accidents than say, North Dakota? And just how would these higher death rates by traffic accidents, drowning and boating accidents prove that having the most cars, lakes or being surrounded by the Pacific does not prevent crime?

While Maddow failed to teach us her desired progressive lesson from this tragedy there are many lessons we can learn from her failure. One is that the Left want us defenseless. They want us unarmed and at the mercy of crazed killers and yes, at the mercy of the government. If the Left had its way we would all be slaughtered like sheep when a lone crazed wolf decides to hunt its prey.

But perhaps the biggest lesson we can learn from Maddow’s show that night is that the Left never lets a crisis go to waste, not even one as tragic and horrific as that Saturday morning in Tucson. While calling for civility the Left continued to lie, slander and attack. And while Maddow spoke of the good judgment and class of Trent Franks for not using the Tucson tragedy for political purposes, in the very next breath she used the Tucson shootings to further the Left’s agenda of gun control. But then Maddow and her comrades at MSNBC are continually lacking in good judgment, class and any sense of reality.

So despite the lame efforts at MSNBC to dismiss the fantasy of the lone responsible gun owner, in the Tucson tragedy the only fantasy that was shattered was that even the Left has its limits.

God Bless America

Semper Fi

<dc:subject>Politics</dc:subject>

So This Is The “Change”

When on September 11, 2001 our nation was viciously attacked by Islamic terrorist as a united people we came together to mourn our dead and to vow that together we would bring those responsible to justice. In doing so we set aside all of our differences to allow for a respectable time in mourning their loss and to reflect on our national tragedy as we reverently paid our respects to those who had perished and jointly prayed with and grieved with the families of the victims.

But that was way back then and since that terrible day some people in this country declared at the ballot box that they wanted change. Saturday’s terrible tragedy in Tucson and its aftermath have clearly shown us just how much our nation has changed.

As I sat here in my computer room watching the early reports of this heartbreak it became ever so clear to me that what I have suspected for some time now is that what we now call our “news media” has very little interest in reporting the truth, or what was once known simply as the news, and are now far more interested in just holding our attention. How else can you explain why CNN, MSNBC, and yes even Fox, would report such unconfirmed hearsay and rumors instead of reporting what they actually knew as facts and then breaking away? While I understand that in such events there is always a lot of confusion and that it was going to take time to get at least some of the facts straight, why didn’t they?

Apparently these news outlets now feel that they can tell their viewers any old thing and correct it later, or hope that we’ll forget they even said it, and so they continually gave us false and unconfirmed information.

At one point all three of these news channels stated that they had “confirmed” reports that Congresswoman Giffords had died of her wounds only to later report that she was indeed alive and being operated on. In this vast technical age of instant communications and information jumping the gun on declaring someone has died is not only unprofessional but is indeed unforgivable. The only reason to report such a grievous and appalling error is that each network was trying to get the jump on their competitors. In what passes for news in today’s market that advantage on their competition seems to outweigh the truth.

Because the shootings involved a Democratic Congresswoman from the outset of these reports there was obvious underlying contention that the shooter must have had a political agenda, and that since the victim was a Democrat then obviously he had to be some right wing extremist. Yet even I didn’t think that the Liberals would be so crass as to use this tragedy to attack the Right.

I was wrong.

Early on, and before the shooter even had a name, it was reported on Fox and CNN that he was believed to be a Veteran of the Afghanistan War.

Really? I thought. In a nation of almost three hundred and eight million people, with less than one percent of those citizens serving in our military and with even a smaller percentage of those serving in Afghanistan, to have this madman be an Afghan Veteran was almost impossible. Yet there it was, this unconfirmed and irresponsible rumor, blasted out all over the world via satellite insinuating that of course anyone this crazy had to be a Veteran, after all we have all been warned by our National Security Agency that returning Veterans pose a serious threat.

If it had been true, and it wasn’t, the Left must have felt like they had just won the lottery because the odds of winning a lottery are about the same as any one random madman shooting up a place would also be a right wing extremist, Afghanistan War Veteran. But those odds and the lack of any verification of this little tidbit did not stop them from reporting it as fact.

In the confusion and mayhem that followed the shootings the news media continued to guess at how many people had been wounded or killed by this insane young man. Through out the morning and into the afternoon their total numbers of the victims went up and down like some grotesque sliding scale that would ultimately determine the magnitude of this calamity leaving us viewers hoping and praying that as bad as it was somehow in the end it would not be as bad as it now seemed and that maybe, just maybe, nobody had been killed.

To help fill the void the reporters started to interview a few witnesses, other members of the press and some Democratic leaders from that district. With the questions of the political motives of the shooter now fully open for debate exasperated Liberals could stop biting their tongues and came out of the woodwork to expound on their unsubstantiated theories.

Within two hours of the shootings, and still without even knowing the name of the madman, CNN interviewed David Fitzsimmons, a cartoonist and opinion columnist for the Arizona Daily Star. Fitzsimmons unabashedly announced his theory on how in our state, politicians on the Right have conducted a campaign of hate for years and how this mornings events were just the results of such a campaign. In Fitzsimmons undaunted opinion we citizens of Arizona are an angry bunch and it seemed to me that he was quite sure that any one of us was capable of violence. For the life of me I don’t know why he stays here…

A few minutes later CNN also interviewed an Arizona Democratic committee member who insinuated that the Tea Party was to blame and he commented in agreement with the earlier Fitzsimmons’ interview. Sorry but I didn’t catch that fellow’s name.

Meanwhile over on MSNBC there was a report that as Rep. Giffords’ father was leaving his home to go to his daughter’s side he had blamed the Tea Party for the shootings. At such a sad time such hateful, erroneous statements, even from a distraught father, have no place on a legitimate newscast or in a civil society.

Others stated how guns were a big problem in Arizona and more than one pundit reported how a gun had once fallen out of a woman’s purse during another meeting held by Rep. Giffords. The woman with the gun was of course supposed to have been a member of the Tea Party, although that was never “verified”.

It was also stated more than once that Arizona was really “The Wild West”, in an effort, I suppose, to insure that all of those fine civilized, citified folks of the elite East Coast who were listening knew to stay away.

Yet still others talked about the recent nasty campaign that Giffords had won over a Tea Party candidate and of how she had received threats during that campaign.

In the past two days we have seen that despite the truth about this lone crazed gunman the Left insists on using this senseless act of violence to attack their opponents. Conservatives such as Hannity, Beck, O’Reilly, Limbaugh and others, have all been ridiculously accused of inciting this violent act. Sarah Plain has been brought to task for a map she used with crosshairs targeting certain Congressional members that she believed could be defeated in the last election. But her target map was almost identical to one used by the Left to target Republican Congressional members back in 2004. Obviously the Left has a short memory when it is convenient and completely forgets that we now have the Internet.

In the last two days there have been many members of the Left who have lectured us on hate. Al Sharpton appeared on Fox News Saturday night to sanctimoniously lecture us all about hate speech. I’m sorry but I refuse to listen to a hypocritical, speechifying parasite that makes his living by inciting the very hate he now so conveniently condemns.

On Sunday’s MSNBC’s Meet The Press, various Democrats sat around a table discussing how the American people need to stop being so angry and how everyone needs to ratchet back on the hate speech. Among them was Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-AZ. When Arizona passed our immigration law Rep. Grijalva said we were racists and called for a boycott of his own state for punishment, now how hateful was that?

Many other Democrats have also stepped forward to now condemn the Right for hate speech. Yet for three years, or since Obama first started his Presidential campaign, we have been bombarded with an us against them mentality of the Left. Led by Obama the Left has tried to use every type of class warfare to divide us by race, religion, economics and political ideology. For these radicals to now step forward and use this tragedy in an attempt to put the blame for the divisions in our country on anyone but themselves is nauseating.

As Saturday afternoon progressed it seemed that what really mattered to the media was not that a number of people had been killed or wounded but that what was most important was that Rep. Gifford had been involved. Even when the facts of the event were starting to become clear most of the discussion remained centered on Giffords’ condition. The other causalities seemed to be almost an after thought.

There were a number of updates on her condition, along with lengthy reports about her family and her work, and testimonials from her friends and Congressional members, while except for a judge who had been killed all of the other victims remained nameless and their status remained unreported. If not for Giffords being involved I feel sure that the networks would have cut away and gone on to other topics.

These feelings were confirmed the next day when a friend told me that it seemed that the other victims were of little concern to the networks. My friend felt that by the coverage only the elite Congresswoman mattered and that the ‘common people’ like you and I might have well had just fallen off the face of the earth.

Although on Sunday and Monday the media had started to put a face on the others, with the charges against the shooter made public, I have to wonder why there is a law that makes it worse to kill a Congressional member than just you or I?

Likewise I am amused by the talk of how Congressional members have been warned to be on the alert, even after this has been proven to be a non-political attack by an obviously insane lone gunman. The media and Congressional members would have us believe that they are in more jeopardy than the average citizen. Really? Before Saturday when was the last time a Congressional member was attacked? But then politicians do love to overact.

Meanwhile everyday normal American citizens run the risk of that lone crazed gunman coming into a McDonald’s, a school, a post office or a place of business. This seems to happen at least once a week somewhere in our country, and there were everyday normal Americans killed in Saturday’s attack too you know. Yet all of the attention and discussions are now about protecting our elite political class.

Late Saturday afternoon the media reported that one of the victims was a young child. I could literally feel my heart drop and I prayed and prayed that this was just another mistake. I prayed that like their reporting Rep. Giffords death that this too would be retracted and that no child was harmed.

Sadly we learned that it was true, a child, a nine year old little girl had been killed. I do not mean to diminish in any way the terrible things that happened to everyone else on this tragic day. The families who lost loved ones are in my prayers as well as those who are recovering from their wounds. But this little girl’s death cripples my heart. I am old now, I’ve been around and I’ve seen too many bad things in my life, yet I still cannot comprehend how anyone could so senselessly harm this child in this manner, even a lunatic.

My heart is sad and I feel resentment towards those who through their despicable attack, lies and hate have not allowed us time to absorb and to filter this tragedy in our minds and hearts or to even allow us a moment’s rest from their insanity to mourn this child. And that incivility is how this country has changed the most.

On that long ago terrible day of 9-11, when terrorist attacked our homeland something very good also happened, a little girl was born. She was allowed to live among us for nine years and almost four months before another madman took her away. From all reports she was a beautiful, intelligent, loving child. And I am sure she did not have an ounce of hate in her heart.

May God keep her and bless her.

No one can hurt her now.

Amen.

For those of you who are staying tuned in to the national news I am sure that you are well aware that there is a common quandary with solving our Nation’s problems; and that is that none of our problems are getting solved. Here in this 21st Century of “Hope and Change” more and more of our nation’s tribulations are only being exacerbated, extended and recycled.

Oh it's not that Obama, his Democratically controlled Congress, and basically all politicians in general are ignoring these problems, in fact they can’t seem to stop doing enough to help us, or so they claim. But of course it is precisely this bureaucratic “help” that has created so many of our problems and is the major handicap in finding viable, long term solutions.

After passing banking and corporate bailouts, stimulus and Omnibus bills, credit card reforms and taking over private business we still find ourselves with the same high unemployment, lack of credit and recession worries post two trillion dollars and counting… so much for that other old axiom of throwing money at any problem to fix it. Of course when it comes to throwing something and hitting the target these clowns couldn’t hit water if they were in a boat. Honestly, have you seen Obama throw out the first pitch at a baseball game? His pitching style is as pathetic as his foreign diplomacy.

A trillion dollars spent and we find those “shovel ready jobs” that MSNBC hacks Olbermann and Maddow were so giddy about almost two years ago didn’t even help companies that made shovels, and that’s even if it was a union shop!

Thanks to these Congressional efforts millions of Americans still can’t find work but test monkeys are now getting high on cocaine! And just what does happen to those junkie monkeys when the stimulus money runs out? Where’s PETA when we really need them?

On Labor Day our daredevil president stood before a pro-union crowd to talk about his new solution for finding Americans jobs. Not exactly David facing Goliath, but then you don’t see many other Democrats holding Town Hall Meetings on this Congressional break either. The truth is that if you and your friends talk about somebody who is willing to face his enemies Obama’s name will never come up.

Surrounded by happy faces Obama’s announcement of his new jobs plan was supposed to be the excuse for this day trip to Milwaukee, but in reality it was just another campaign speech on the taxpayers’ dime. Standing in front of what surely must have been a gallery of life-sized bobble-headed dolls, which constantly, and annoyingly, bounced in agreement with every word the Chosen One uttered, Obama spent most of his time talking smack about the Republicans. Or as he now refers to them as “The Party Of NO!”

If you thought his speech on ending the combat operations in Iraq was lame and uninspired you should have seen this un-Presidential display of arrogant gibberish. On and on he went about how everything was the Republicans’ fault and about how much he has done for the American people.

Apparently looking for sympathy our poor misunderstood Obama stated that, “They talk about me like I’m a dog.” Now I can’t argue with that because Obama does get to fly separately to his many vacation spots in his own private taxpayer financed plane, just like Bo.

But mostly he talked about putting “the car” in ‘D’ (meaning Drive to go forward with them there Democrats) and not putting it in ‘R’ (meaning, of course, going in reverse to those mean old Bush years with them there Republicans.) Well I’ll tell you something Bub, after twenty months in office where the unemployment rate has stayed the same as the day you entered the Oval Garage… I mean Office, you have had that car in ‘P’ or Park and by spending all of that cash while uselessly revving the engine you have made it almost impossible for us to go either forward or backward.

When he wasn’t whining about the NO Party Obama explained that his new plan is to spend another fifty billion dollars on another stimulus to rebuild the nations’ “infrastructure.” In other words, once again he plans on putting Americans back to work doing “shovel ready jobs!” But isn’t that exactly what the Obama, Pelosi, Reid Gang and their MSNBC hacks were crowing about two long unemployed years ago? Well, yes, it is. With Obama and Company America is stuck in a ditch with the engine howling as they press the Peddle to the Metal emptying out our money fuel tank all the while wanting us to just keep digging that ditch even deeper!

The three biggest lies in his speech were of how he had been able to put Americans back to work through the first stimulus by singling out teachers, policemen and firemen. While all are honored, noble and necessary professions they are also all public sector union jobs, which are paid for by our taxes and do not add to our national GDP.

Another lie was that this fifty billion was already paid for. Apparently we are supposed to believe that even with a record deficit Obama just happens to have this money lying around. Hogwash. Besides there is still about 270 billion from the first stimulus that has not been spent yet, so why do we need another fifty billion added to the deficit?

But the biggest lie was stressing his commitment to getting Americans back to work as soon as possible, yet this new fifty billion dollar infrastructure fiasco will not even go into effect until sometime in 2011. These yahoos who are running us into the ground have still not learned a thing in the past twenty months. They still do not understand that people need to work now not next year, and that they need to be put back to work in the private sector not in the public sector. In other words, as a Nation America needs to once again start making money instead of just spending it. In that sense government funded jobs like building roads and bridges won’t cut it.

So after almost two years in office and almost two trillion dollars our unacceptably high rate of unemployment and our economic crisis still remains unsolved and are just simply being constantly recycled.

For the past twenty months of Obama’s reign it has been one “crisis” after another. Listening to this Administration crying wolf every other day makes the apocalyptic years of the Great Depression and World War Two look like the easy going, prosperous Nifty Fifties of the Eisenhower Administration. Today we can’t take a step forward without bumping into another “crisis”, real or otherwise.

Take the so-called “health care crisis” for instance. Back in February to hear Obama and his media whores tell it we had to step over dying people in the streets in order to just get through the day. They declared that something had to be done so whether we wanted it or not they gave us an unread bill that had “to be passed in order to know what was it.”

Of course ObamaCare did not fix the problems with health care but in fact made those problems even more costly and problematical. It even insured that America would create a new class of vicious criminals to fill our court systems and prisons with those future hardened felons who will refuse to buy this federally mandated health insurance. And you can bet your house that unlike the voter intimidating Black Panther Party and the captured Islamic terrorists Obama’s DOJ will prosecute with vigor any and all American citizens who refuse to buy health care insurance.

As stated ObamaCare didn’t solve anything; anybody in this country, illegally or not, that needed emergency care were never turned away due to a Federal law that was already in place. Insurance premiums have not gone down but in fact have gone up and in the case of private business’ providing their employees with health insurance those premiums have skyrocketed.

Despite what Obama and his minions claim ObamaCare will not pay for itself nor will it be sufficiently funded by cuts in other programs like Medicare. Likewise it is totally irresponsible to claim that it will be even remotely possible to meet all of the health care needs of 300 million plus Americans. Instead this health care “plan” has insured that our country will forever be in debt and that our future generations will never even receive the satisfactory health care that we once knew. Health care rationing will not become just an option but a necessity.

As it is ObamaCare has not solved our Nation’s health care problems but has only multiplied and exaggerated them while delaying any real solutions. This unconstitutional ObamaCare has already started down the tawdry path to years of endless litigation. Unless it is repealed the only real results that will come from this vast waste of time, money and resources will be the destruction of what is now widely considered the best health care in the world, an accrual of an insurmountable national debt, forcing our future generations into financial government servitude and the extinction of the species once known as the American Octogenarian.

Like our economic troubles and the high unemployment rate our health care problems have simply been recycled and we will have to deal with them all over again in the future. Nothing this administration has done in the past twenty months can be seen as a solution to anything it has addressed, not even that silly Beer Summit.

The credit card reform bill simply altered the way credit card companies will increase their interest rates but the rates will be increased. In other words they will still get theirs while they have extremely limited their credit output, even on borrowers who were once considered low risk valued customers.

Likewise the bank bailouts did little to increase spending as they too tightened up their credit. The mortgage programs were simply a short-term fix that failed to save an untold number of people from foreclosure nor did it jump start the housing industry as promised.

But that joke called “Cash For Clunkers” was the biggest clunker of them all, as it did not help lower income families or the environment. In fact lower income families are again the victims of this scam since all of the used trade in cars had to be destroyed. This has resulted in the loss of many good affordable vehicles and so now even in this current recession used car prices have actually increased. In reality most of the people who were able to benefit from “Cash For Clunkers” were affluent enough to already be driving a reliable fuel-efficient, and newer vehicle. Those folks you see running around town belching noxious fumes from the tail pipes of their ancient cars didn’t have a prayer to even qualify for the CFC. Not to mention that just like the housing industry this quick fix had a nominal effect on the auto industry.

Here we still have not even addressed this Administration’s shameful foreign policies; it’s outrageous stand on illegal immigration, it’s lack of interest in our national security or it’s cowardly efforts in the war on terror. Like Obama and his Democratic Congress we’ll recycle those for a later date.

God Bless America

Semper Fidelis

It has been eighteen months since Obama was sworn in as the new Commander In Chief and he is now on his third Commanding General in Afghanistan.

Does anyone want to place any bets that within six to eight months there will be a fourth?

Obama replaced General McKiernan in May 2009 with General McChrystal. As Bush’s general, McKiernan had to know that his time was coming and now General Petraeus replaces McChrystal.

Now let me make it clear that I do not think that the any of these three Generals are not capable and experienced enough to do want needed to be done, or in General Petraeus’ case needs to be done, to win this war. Quite the contrary as the Generals are not the problem.

Even in light of The Rolling Stone article, “The Runaway General,” which after reading I found the title to more than a little overly dramatic and terribly misleading. But the title was no more misleading than the contents of the article itself when you find that there is hardly a derogatory quote about Obama or the members of his Administration made by General McChrystal himself. After reading the entire article, the first Rolling Stone article I was ever able to finish, I am still not sure just how General McChrystal was supposed to be this intolerable runaway officer?

The article written by Michael Hastings was not the all out hatchet job one comes to expect from the ultra liberal Rolling Stone, but then this one didn’t have to be, at least not in this present Liberal climate raining down on DC or in regards to the thinnest skinned, prima donna president and administration this country has ever seen.

Frankly if Hastings had pulled an all out hatchet job on the General and his Staff then it would not have been as effective and many would have disregarded it as just another liberal pansy knocking the military. By toning it down this particular liberal pansy got away with it.

In what may be another first, I find that I have to agree with Geraldo Rivera when he states that Hastings should not have included many of the article’s quotes when they were probably off the record and for national security reasons during a war.

Of course this brings up the obvious question of just why a known liberally biased journalist who is writing for a flagrantly liberal magazine was welcomed into the inner circle by General McChrystal and his Staff in the first place? About the only things more unwise than letting Hastings tag along would have been allowing Oliver Stone to hang around researching a new screenplay, letting Adam Pearlman, alias Azzam The American, shoot one of his infamous propaganda shorts, or as reported, McChrystal voting for Obama in the first place. But then even intelligent people do dumb things on occasions.

Besides a well earned lack of respect for the current CIC and his administration, the only other reason that I can come up with for Hastings being anywhere near McChrystal is that General McChrystal and his Staff had drunk too deep from the well of power and indestructibility after having the full run of things since May ’09. Unfortunately that is a trap that many great men fall into.

What we all must remember is that just eighteen months ago this entire bunch of Liberal “peaceniks”, who are now running ‘the show’, were crawling around the country condemning both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and declaring that they were both un-winnable. American Armed Forces now find themselves in the dangerous position of being at war while being under the command of a group of individuals who consistently look victory straight in the eye and yell “Uncle!”

So the biggest problem with this entire episode is that everything McChrystal and his Staff said is true. “Bite Me” Biden is a joke, Obama is detached and overwhelmed, and from the top down this administration is chaotic, uninformed and misguided, not to mention unanimously and fervently anti-military.

From dumbing down the terminology of our wars, enemies and policies, to instituting the ridiculous ‘Rule Of Engagement’, giving Miranda Rights to terrorist, embracing our enemies while insulting and abandoning our Allies, handing over missile sites to Russia, telling all about our Top Secret interrogation techniques and the number of nuclear weapons we possess, to proposing public, civilian trials of the terrorists and on and on can anyone not say that our nation is now less secure than it was before Obama was sworn in?

We have a CIC that refuses to use the word, “victory” in Afghanistan and an entire Administration that will not even dare to whisper, “Islamic terrorism”!

If anyone reading this can give me even just one example of how our country is safer after an Obama policy change I would really like to know what it is.

If you haven’t noticed how inexperienced, unorganized and detached Obama and his Administration are concerning Afghanistan, Iraq, the Gulf oil spill, North Korean and Iranian nuclear weapons, our faltering economy and so on and on then you just aren’t paying attention or you’ve drunk too much of the Kool-Aid.

I also find it extremely disturbing that in this new Progressive wave flushing through Washington D.C. that Rolling Stone magazine can now so strongly influence our foreign and military policies. My Lord what’s next, Mad Magazine dictating national health care and our economic recovery?

Well, come to think of it after the Obama Mob nationalized health care and has spent over a trillion dollars to supposedly “stimulate” the economy, yet the unemployment rate is still hanging around 10% just like eighteen months ago, any policy suggestions from Mad Magazine probably couldn’t do any worse.

It is an all too common fate in life that better men often fall under the command of lesser men. From time to time that has been especially true in our Republic where a few elected civilians are in control of the military. As is the present case, all too often these elected politicians are far more interested in political agendas than the security and defense of our Country.

Such was the case with General McChrystal and I am afraid will also be the fate that befalls General Petraeus. Men like these are what we call “shakers and doers.” They have spent their lives preparing for the moments at hand through higher education, hard earned experience, dedication to duty and by learning from their failures. They are highly motivated and take action when such actions are called for. They also follow a Code of Conduct and they believe in an old relic that America once held dear, Honor.

It is absurd to stand such resumes next to their CIC who has spent his life as a college student, community organizer and as a no-show State and US Senator, whose life studies consists of Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” and if he knows anything about Constitutional law it is only how to circumvent and or destroy it.

For the definition of such absurdity go to YouTube and search “Obama-Petraeus.” Watch the video of the smug junior Senator from Illinois grilling the Senior Commanding Officer about the successful “Surge” in Iraq. Obama is so clueless that even though the Surge had already proven successful he is dressing down Petraeus and telling him that Iraq is un-winnable. These Generals were serving our country while Obama was still in knee pants running around an Indonesian Islamic school playground.

In this particular president we have a thinker not a doer, a man who takes months to reach critical and timely decisions. A man who not only does not take action when it is necessary but who could only vote “Present” on most of the issues placed before him as a member of both the Illinois and US Senates.

If you take nothing else away from this Obama-McChrystal episode please take note of how quickly Obama acts, or perhaps I should say reacts, when something displeases him compared to how long it takes for him to act upon an important decision concerning the welfare of this Nation and our citizens. His uninformed knee jerk reaction of saying that, “…police acted stupidly” when they arrested his Harvard friend should have given us a fair warning of the recklessness in this man’s reactions when he is angry.

When McChrystal took command his first mission was to evaluate the situation in Afghanistan and to recommend changes in our military policy. This he accomplished in short order but was told by White House advisors that the President was not yet ready for his report, thus he was told to hold on to it.

After finally submitting his report among the many other recommendations McChrystal had requested additional combat troops, with at least a minimum of 45,000 that were needed immediately or, he felt, the mission in Afghanistan would not succeed.

Wars can be lost in a matter of days and lives are lost in just a few horrifying seconds, even so Obama waited, went golfing, waited, waited and waited and withheld his decision on sending those additional troops for four long months despite McChrystal’s warning that our mission in Afghanistan may fail without them!

To make matters even worse Obama then sent only 30,000 more men, well under the minimum of what the General had requested, and created a Mission Impossible by designating a withdrawal date for our forces from Afghanistan, which basically told our enemies that no matter what happened we would quit the war.

During this long and dangerous delay Obama hardly met with any of his advisors or with McChrystal to discuss the situation or the requests. But when McChrystal spoke out of turn in London about the delay Obama wasted absolutely no time in summoning his General for a reprimand.

Within forty-eight hours of McChrystal’s critical comments Obama had the General sitting on Air Force One in Copenhagen. Of course you all remember Obama’s unsuccessful trip to Copenhagen to persuade the International Olympic Committee to hold the Olympics in Chicago. To simply say that this President has his priorities mixed is being too kind.

So it should have been no surprise to anyone that within forty-eight hours of the Hastings’ article being released that an enraged Obama once again had General McChrystal sitting before him. When it comes to our nation’s security things can wait, but when it comes to a personal affront on his Majesty… stand back.

As it is the best man, McChrystal has been replaced and will now retire, while the totally detached, inexperienced and incompetent CIC Obama is allowed to stumble on while Hastings becomes the new hero of the Liberal media and elite.

Despite McChrystal’s mistake of allowing Hastings anywhere near him his tenure as the Commanding General in Afghanistan was doomed from the start, just as is Petraeus’. A detached, unqualified, uncaring and arrogant CIC is to blame and he is not the one who was replaced.

America has lost a Warrior, the Hero has gone home, and we are still stuck with the rest. Sleep tight America.

God Bless America And Our Armed Forces

Semper Fi

Giving or taking a few months I spent twenty-seven years in the construction trade as a carpenter, supervisor, contractor and small business owner. Most of that time I was involved in some capacity with building single family homes and home improvement remodeling, but I also had experience with commercial building, such as apartment complexes, warehouses, commercial storage units, office buildings and post offices. At other times I worked on the reconstruction of property damaged by fires, floods or other weather catastrophes such as tornadoes. Over the years I was often required to be the estimator, salesman, draftsman, or poor man’s architect, contractor, supervisor and “nail-pounder.”

In other words at one time or another I have done just about everything in construction from beginning to end to complete a project including obtaining the required licenses, insurances, permits and materials, to including billing and collecting payments.

Yet never in all that time did I ever imagine that I could get away with selling, constructing, remodeling, repairing or billing for the finished products the way these power crazy Democrats are now selling their Congressional bills, regulations and future plans for America.

For example, concerning ObamaCare a few months ago Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said, "But we have to pass the (health care) bill so that you can find out what is in it."

When you consider that the passage of this bill would affect the lives of every American citizen, that just may be the stupidest statement a politician has ever uttered.

We must also remember that no one who voted to pass this health care scam had even read the entire bill nor did anyone have any idea how much it was finally going to cost the American citizens! Yet in order to end the supposed “health care crisis” this unconstitutional bill was rammed through Congress using bribery, coercion and partisan politics and then signed into law by Obama despite the continuing objections by the majority of the American public.

Likewise the Obama-Reid-Pelosi Mob had confidently assured us that once we Americans found out what was in ObamaCare we would all come to love it. Of course that arrogant boast has just been the polar opposite of reality as the more we Americans come to understand the convoluted, bureaucratic mayhem included in ObamaCare the more opposed to it we have become. And despite the outright deceit by some mainstream media outlets stating otherwise, this opposition is in fact increasing not declining.

But what has happened since the passage of ObamaCare is that even their highest “estimated” cost for this plan has all but doubled in price and it hasn’t even gone into effect yet! God only knows how much this health care scam will end up costing the American taxpayers and our future generations.

There has also been the utter disappearance of that supposed “health care crisis” in the Democratic and MSM rhetoric. Before this bill was passed they would have had us believe that people were dying on the streets of every American city because they could not get health care. Now, since it was signed into law, this “health care crisis” is no more, even though it will be years before the law goes into effect. So what happened to all of those sick and dying people who didn’t have health care?

However, if you’re looking for a real health care crisis try finding a doctor who will now accept new Medicare patients since ObamaCare has been passed. Of course you won’t hear about that from the O-R-P Mob or the MSM.

Now for those of you who think that I am just digging up old news here’s the tie in. Yesterday, June 26th, these same Democrats announced that both the House and the Senate had agreed upon a new bill to “reform” Wall Street. It is expected to pass both houses and be signed into law by July 4th. Again this is mainly a partisan bill as only four Republicans voted for their previous versions. This “Dodd-Frank” bill is named after Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, who are also two of the largest recipients of Wall Street campaign contributions, or whatever they are calling these payoffs now.

Without going into detail of how this bill will regulate banks and corporations, as it is all a bunch of baloney anyway, lets just say that Congress has now been able to further distance themselves from how they were really responsible for our economic woes in the first place. And of course they have stated that this bill was necessary due to the “economic crisis.”

What American taxpayers get are more false assurances that this kind of an “economic crisis” will never happen again, more and more bureaucracy and regulations and the false pretence that the government actually knows what it is doing.

What American taxpayers should be asking themselves is why we have this great financial circle of Wall Street, i.e. such as Goldman Sachs, giving so much money to people like Dodd-Franks, then after making bad investments getting bailed out by people like Dodd-Franks, then supposedly being regulated by people like Dodd-Franks, only to again give so much money to people like Dodd-Franks? And it’s all on the taxpayer’s dime. Now this is some big time shell game.

But here from the Washington Post is the kicker:

"It's a great moment. I'm proud to have been here," said a teary-eyed Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), who as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee led the effort in the Senate. "No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. But we believe we've done something that has been needed for a long time. It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done."

Now read that again: ” "No one will know until this is actually in place how it works.”

Folks, this is INSANITY.

Do you want to know why Dodd was “teary-eyed?” He and his fellow maniacs are just so overwhelmed that they are actually getting away with this sh..!

Folks, the United States Federal Government is suing the State of Arizona over the passage of an immigration law that is almost word for word with the Federal immigration law. As the U.S. Federal Government represents ‘us’, and even though 70% of ‘us’ support Arizona’s new law, in reality ‘we’ are suing Arizona whether we support the law or not! That’s crazy!

We have legislators passing bills they do not read, do not know what all it includes, do not know how much it will cost, do not know how it will work until after they are passed, and are unconstitutional!

That Ladies and Gentlemen is a classic example of insanity.

There is not an American alive that would have allowed me to tell them that I do not know what your house will look like until I build it, I do not know what it will include until it is completed, or I do not know how much it will cost until it is finished, it is unlawful and against existing building codes and still have given me the go ahead!

No, under those conditions none of you would have allowed me to build your houses or to remodel your kitchens. Yet we are allowing this rabble to steal our children and grandchildren’s futures and Freedoms!

When you consider that most of what this Congress and Administration has pushed down our throats, from the bailouts, the stimulus bill, the omnibus bill, government takeovers of private business, ObamaCare, this Dodd-Franks shell game, the refusal to secure our borders, their lack of response and purpose in dealing with the Gulf oil disaster and the up and coming cap & trade scam, has all been against the will of the majority of the American people it is Democratic insanity run amuck.

If the American people stand by and allow this insanity to continue unchecked then we are even more insane than these power crazed “teary-eyed” lunatics.

May God Help America

November 2010 and 2012 cannot get here soon enough!

Semper Fi

As if being bombarded by the hateful and false smear campaign of the idiotic, vile race baiters in the media and politics aren’t enough, now we have the same senile leftist hyperbole smearing up our sports coverage.

Sports Illustrated columnist Jeff Pearlman recently posted an article praising Suns’ players Steve Nash and Grant Hill, Phoenix Suns owner, Robert Sarver and a few other athletes for speaking out against Arizona’s new immigration law.

Unfortunately he didn’t stop there as he also called out a few other well-known sports’ figures that simply wanted to stay out of the controversy. Those individuals choosing to remain silent did not sit well with Pearlman who believes that the others who did speak out have a lot of “guts.”

In fact in the typical Liberal fashion of we’re right and everybody else is wrong, Pearlman wants to know why the entire sports’ community isn’t up in arms over our new anti-illegal immigration law! I wonder does that include synchronized swimmers and the Lithuanian curling league?

Of course, when it comes to the Left, you either agree with them and say what they want you to say, or you're just part of the problem and so you will be attacked, or in Pearlman’s view you’re deemed gutless. All in all claiming who’s got “guts” and who are gutless sounds very much like a bunch of immature playground adolescents, if not down right infantile.

Now if Pearlman wants to talk about courage I suggest he start with our Border Patrol and our Police Officers who are daily on the front lines fighting this illegal invasion of not only our fine State of Arizona but our entire Country.

If Pearlman is looking for moral courage I would suggest he look harder at Arizona Governor Jan Brewer for leading this desperate charge to stop this unlawful immigration that is bankrupting our border States, and which our Federal Government has refused to address for almost fifty years!

Likewise Pearlman needs to address the valor of All the American citizens of Arizona, including Blacks and Hispanics, for their bravery and fortitude for living in such a lawless atmosphere of illegal drug smuggling, gang bangers, car jackings, murder, kidnapping, robbery, illegal trespassing, prostitution, human trafficking, and illegal immigration, which has been created by a complacent Federal government that is unwilling to uphold its own Federal laws!

But Pearlman should specifically acknowledge the courage and sacrifices of the families who have lost loved ones due to the actions of illegal immigrants, either in the line of duty or as victims of a crime. Pearlman and his like need to explain to these grief stricken Americans why our State does not have the right to protect its citizens from people who are here illegally.

Otherwise Pearlman can take his claims of such false bravado, or “guts,” made by a bunch of multi-millionaire sports’ celebrities who are constantly surrounded by bodyguards and sleep under the protection of the best home security systems money can buy and peddle his leftist nonsense just south of the Rio Grande. If he does go south I’ve got ten bucks that says somebody will rip off his laptop, Amigo. Hopefully he will not get caught in any drug war crossfire or surprise a ‘coyote’ that is violently raping one of his under age smuggled charges.

Pearlman’s attack on Arizona and Her citizens is filed with self-righteous indignation. He is outraged that the sports community does not rise up in a unified revolt against the racist people of Arizona!

Following the Liberal bible Pearlman now paints all Arizonans as racists for passing this law. He states that this law is about “decency vs. hatred,” yet in his rage he spews hatred in almost every word.

It matters little to him, or to his fellow leftists, that Arizonians have lived peacefully in this diverse community for hundreds of years. It matters not that everyday the people of Arizona all work together, live side by side, and have together through mutual cooperation and respect of all races and ethnic groups, established one of the finest States in the Union.

Liberals have called this new law “anti-immigration” when it is actually an anti-illegal immigration law that simply enforces an existing Federal law stating that all non-U.S. citizens must carry proof of their immigration status and provide such proof when it is requested. Until now State law enforcement officers were not permitted to ask for such proof of immigrations status, even when a crime had been committed.

Pearlman snidely remarks on how these officers will determine who will be questioned about their immigration status. Like other Liberals Pearlman wants people to think that once the law goes into effect our police officers are going to go crazy tazing anyone with so much as a hint of a tan.

“Hey Buck, does that guy have brown eyes? Get em!”

“Zzzzaaap!”

“Now see if he has his papers.”

It is a ridiculous scenario but Pearlman and the others use this stupid ploy to instill fear and suspicion into minorities who are here legally or not. In his article once again like a an adolescent schoolboy he frivolously wonders if an officers’ detainment of an individual will be decided by a “flip of a coin, jaywalking, or a trip to Taco Bell.” As if there are no real crimes being committed in the State of Arizona.

By the way folks, in other circles if a conservative, or now an Arizonian, had made that remark about Taco Bell, they would be called a racist. But here Pearlman, the irate Liberal gets a pass. You know its true.

Pearlman wants to know why the Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has not canceled next year’s All-Star game that is being held in Arizona? He is so filled with the very hate in which he accuses and condemns Arizonians that he wants to hurt us financially by blacklisting us from holding an All-Star game.

Well I’ll tell you what Pard, we’ll keep our anti-illegal immigration law to protect our citizens and our property, our sovereignty, and you can keep your All-Star game.

In the long run once we curtail the influx of illegal immigrants into our state, the money we will save by not having to fight the crimes perpetrated by illegal immigrants or by incarcerating these criminals, money saved on damaged or stolen property, free welfare and health benefits, Federal mandates on special education for illegal immigrant Spanish speaking only students, the wages and taxes paid by legal employees instead of those lost to Mexico by illegal labor, along with a host of other recouped expenses caused by illegal immigration, and the money lost from not having an All-Star game will amount to a few miserable pesos. So you and Bud just play that game somewhere else, if we’re interested we’ll just watch it on TV and help with the poor viewer ratings.

According to Pearlman the Canadian Steve Nash showed he had “guts” by stating:

"I think that this is a bill that really damages our civil liberties, I think it opens up the potential for racial profiling ... racism. I think it's a bad precedent to set for our young people. I think it represents our state poorly in the eyes of the nation and the world. I think that we have a lot of great attributes here and [this law] is something that we could do without. And I hope it will change in the coming weeks."

As a Canadian making millions on a work visa, who not only lives in the United States but in Arizona to boot and then irresponsibly criticizes the very people who pay to see him play, I don’t believe Nash thinks at all, but I think somebody should check his papers!

Whether true or not beauty queens and athletes have a bad rap for not being the brightest bulbs on the porch. In his article Pearlman quotes Diamondbacks’ infielder and an LA born US citizen, Augie Ojeda:

"I don't know the details, but if I leave the park after a game and I get stopped, am I supposed to have papers with me? I don't think that's fair."

What a pathetic example of the problems that this supposed racist law is going to cause. Are we really supposed to believe that Augie Ojeda, an adult male and life long US citizen is perplexed in what to do if the police stop him on his way home? Are we supposed to believe that Augie has never had to show his drivers’ license or some other ID to a police officer, or to buy beer, or get into an R-rated movie? How about cashing a check or to even open the bank account? We all carry a government ID of some kind and we use it as proof of who we are almost every day. Pearlman’s use of this ridiculous dilemma is laughable.

In the meantime Augie, try not to further enhance that dim lighted rap on athletes.

Pearlman further said this anti-illegal immigration law was, “…one of the most racist, most xenophobic bills of the past 30 years came to pass.”

As a college educated New Yorker Pearlman apparently likes to use really big words like “xenophobic.” Definition: An unreasonable fear, distrust, or hatred of strangers, foreigners, or anything perceived as foreign or different.

You might also recall that during the last presidential campaign Obama described mid-Americans much the same way in his, “…cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

It should be pointed out that a synonym for “xenophobic” is “racists.” In other words Pearlman doesn’t just think that this law and is racist, he thinks its racists racists! If he thinks this about our law you can bet that to him Zonies are racists racists too.

Obviously Pearlman needs to take a step back, take a deep breath, and a stiff shot of Jack D., or perhaps even a few law classes.

The law that was passed in Arizona simply allows our law enforcement agencies to enforce an existing Federal law mandating that all non-U.S. citizens presently residing here must carry and provide documentation as to their legal right to be in our country. If that person is here legally he or she will have those papers. If they are not here legally they will be rightfully detained and deported. That is the Federal Law that has been on the books for years but which our Federal government has refused to enforce.

The citizens of our country have the right to protect themselves, their families and their property. When the Federal government has failed to protect its citizens then the individual States must act on our behalf. If the States also fail to protect its citizens then the citizens themselves have the right to protect themselves. Now Mr. Pearlman and your fellow Liberals, what would you rather have, State laws or vigilantism? For without lawful legal protection from our State or Federal governments that would have been the next logical step.

In their race baiting, fear mongering and hate filled rants Pearlman and his fellow Liberals are inciting civil disobedience, racism, hatred and fear, which are supposedly the very things that they claim to despise.

Likewise, and despite his contrived indignation Pearlman never expresses any concern for the illegal immigrants themselves. There is never any concern for these people who suffer so many dangers and hardships to illegally enter our country, who continue to suffer in poverty because of their illegal status once they get here and who are the hapless victims of most of the crimes committed by their counterparts. But Pearlman is not alone in these omissions because the illegal immigrants are nothing more than political fodder for the Liberal agenda.

Pearlman writes:

"Truth is, the new law should have people -- jocks included -- deeply concerned. It means visit Arizona at your own peril. It means certain ethnicities are welcome more than others. It means racism is alive and well in the United States of America."

If Pearlman feels this way he can stay home, we’ll get along just fine without him. Everyone else is and has been welcomed here in Arizona, IF they are here legally. Get it? Legally is the key word.

Pearlman is correct about one thing; racism is alive and well in the U.S. and that is due to people like him and other Liberal race baiters who insist on keeping it alive for their own personal gains.

Lastly Pearlman states that, “…someone needs to take a stand. Someone with guts.”

Like most Liberals Pearlman can’t see the forest for the trees, or the true heroes among the posers. While he sings the praises of those who have no real stake in the events and who will suffer none of the dire consequences of their outcome, he vilifies and insults the true courageous men and women of Arizona who have taken that stand.

Pearlman calls his little corner at SI “Pearls Of Wisdom.” He may be a good sports writer, but in opening this oyster I found no pearls or even a hint of wisdom. What I did find was just another uninformed Liberal race baiter fueling the flames of hatred.

God Bless America

Semper Fi
