Last Monday when Obama presented his foolish plan to have wounded Veterans pay for their own treatment of service related injuries, I believe that what America witnessed was a brief glimpse into this man's soul. While some one else may have thought of this in the past, no other politician would have had the audacity or the lack of intelligence to present such an immoral and impractical idea to the American people. Especially when our young American Warriors are fighting two separate wars. But then no other politician could have gotten away with it before Obama.

Perhaps Obama was simply emboldened by his series of successful conquests since he has taken office so he was too sure of himself when he called this meeting with the leaders of our Veterans' Organizations. I mean rarely has anyone told him 'No' since he started running for President. Perhaps in his inexperience he was not able to understand the difference between meeting with the leaders of courageous Veterans, instead of meeting with his fellow scheming politicians, or near bankrupt bankers and CEOs needing a handout, or even the lapdogs of his media. I truly wonder that after he explained this vile plan if he actually expected these fine people, many of them Veterans themselves who have dedicated their lives working for the Veterans of America to simply shuffle out of the room, heads bowed in resignation and mumbling but fully accepting the inevitable demands of the Obama regime? If so he was terribly mistaken.

Obama's idea was to save money, roughly 530 million dollars. Yet this amount seems trivial after all of his excessive spending in his first sixty days. It is especially shocking when viewed in respect for what he deems important enough to spend billions on like light rail systems and neighborhood activism, but he is comfortable in cutting out health care to men and women wounded in the service of our country. To save this money he was willing to throw wounded Veterans under that proverbial bus just as he had thrown his own grandmother and his mentor/reverend during his campaign when the need arose. Obama's consistent willingness to sacrifice others to reach his goals, even those who were close to him, and now these Americans who have given so much for our country fiercely amplifies the definition of a callous and narcissistic individual. This unsavory combination in a president does not bode well for America and Her citizens as we can only wonder how long it will be before he also throws us all under that same bus when the need arrives?

Also troubling is his seemingly lack of understanding the consequences of this plan upon the Veterans and their families. Of how once the private insurance ran out the Veteran and his family would be stranded without health care thus leaving them dependant on the state for their health care needs and in being so would eventually cancel out any savings that were gained by Obama's plan. Likewise, as a fellow Sniper pointed out this past week, if Veterans now had to pay for their own treatment why would they limit themselves to getting treatment from the VA? We have already mentioned the problems the Veterans would face even getting health insurance coverage with such needed treatment. Then there would be the high cost of premiums that would be required, which would be grossly out of line with the premiums paid by rest of our society, simply because of the Veteran's service. Plus the attitude of future employers when faced with hiring a Veteran who would be such a burden on their company's health plans.

Unlike Obama I don't have a college or law degree let alone one from Columbia and Harvard. I sit here alone in my computer room writing these articles so I do not have a bunch of other college graduates as advisors. But like most of you, I could immediately see the immorality and the serious problems with this plan, why couldn't Obama? I have questioned Obama's intelligence and his leadership before so his lack of foresight with the problems of this plan along with the very poor judgment in even presenting it only reinforces those criticisms. Or am I just being too lenient on this guy by questioning his intelligence and leadership when I should actually be looking at his physiological nature. For could it be that Obama was fully aware of all of this and it just didn't matter? If so, then he's even more dangerous than I first believed.

As the new Commander In Chief of our Armed Forces, Obama is not the first without military experience. But he may be the first CIC to actually detest our military. This is even more troubling as he is 'The Ultimate Liberal' yet he is supposed to take care of our men and women in uniform. I find it disturbing that during the Vietnam War liberals in this country persisted in spreading the false claim that we used minorities as cannon fodder during the war. This is just part of the false mythology of that war perpetrated by the anti-war liberals. Now with Obama in office it is indeed the liberals who actually want to treat our young men and women as cannon fodder by sending them off to fight a war only to then abandon them once they have come home and need care. Like cannon fodder, once expended, our Veterans have no other use to this administration, so this administration feels no further obligations to them. But then if Obama could find no sense of loyalty to his grandmother, the woman you mostly raised him how can we expect from him a sense of loyalty to the Veterans of this country? Or for that matter to the country itself and its citizens?

With the outpouring or rage and disbelief from Veterans, our organizational leaders and the American public Obama has quickly and quietly backed off of this issue, for now. We Veterans have won this battle but we also are fully aware that winning a battle does not win the war. For now Obama will shelve this idea, he will want us to think that it is forgotten. But do not think for a moment that it is forgotten. He will bide his time and work behind the scenes to garner support from his liberal cronies who also hate the military. The next time Obama will not even consult the Veterans' Organizations. The next time he will rush this proposal through his Democratic Congress just like the stealfromus bill. I know that the Veterans of this country will not forget what Obama has tried to do. But we must remain vigilant and we must be prepared.

We must also not let our fellow countrymen forget that with this episode we were indeed witnessing a defining moment in understanding the true nature of this man, Obama. He is a man who has shown no loyalty, compassion or gratitude to our wounded Veterans. For the sake of those who have sacrificed and for those who must follow in our bloodied footsteps to preserve our Nation and our Freedoms, we must never forget or forgive.
